A Friend is a Gift

FRIEND is short word and I ma glad that there is such of thing in this world. People use this word in a variety of ways from casual acquaintance to someone you have known your whole life bad or good or vice verse. Whoever they are, friends are an important part of life in every stage. They provide you with laughter, tears of joy, correction, emotional support, etc or just one who walk with you in the darkest path of your life till you see the little light in the end of the tunnel.
Each one have their own definition about friend and some quality they seek and what benefit they get from it but for me friend is a gift. I like words that I read in little card that I bought couple years ago about what friend is. It sounds:
A Friend is....

A friend is one whom you can talk to and listen to without judging.

A friend is a shoulder to lean on when you need support, a pat on the back when you do well, and a sympathetic ear when you fail.

A friend is a person you can laugh with about everything, you can cry without shame, and whom you trust completely.

That what we seek from a friend but we need to be that kind of friend too as the return ( If I can say that). Expect someone be something and our job is to be the one who we expected. Selfish friendship not gonna work but ruin everything and I have the list about my selfish friendship and end up with losing them but when I losing them I realize how precious they are for me. One of  gift of my life.

Here are some tips for keeping friends:
  • Be a good listener. Don't judgmental and don't offer advice unless you are asked. ( I like this coz I am not really good in giving advice)
  • Respect the other person's opinion, even when you do not agree. ( Hard thing to do but good lesson to test how patient and humble we are)
  • Never break a confidence. Your friends need to know they can trust you. (It is very important. Break this code will cause losing your friend and I've done it and I losing one of my dearest friend. Hope one day we can be friend again)
  • Be supportive of your friends. It is important to love them despite their faults!
  • It is very important to keep in touch to show how you care of them.
  • Flexibility, initiative and respect.
Oh ya.....I remember one quote from someone I forget who and what it sound exactly but I try my best to write the main point. It sound 'when I go out there to find a good friend, I fine no one but when I go be a good friend, I find many'. The key is in our hand.

With love,

Girlandhers
