"What a long time it takes! what a long time it takes!" said the Flower. " I feel a stirring and striving within me; I must stretch myself, I must unlock the door, I must get out, and must nod a good morning to the summer, and what a happy time that will be!"
( from Snowdrop by Hans Christian Andersen)
That is what the Snowdrop said to herself while waiting for the sunbeam to knock the door. She has been waiting for a long time, in the hard, dark and cold that come in through the little crack in the soil. The hardness, darkness and the coldness almost consume her but she keep waiting for the single light of the sun to crack open the door so she can come out of the tight place.
Snowdrop has more strength than she thought. She is strong in the joy of out the door with smile open wide and the faith in the warm of the summer that will ease the coldness away. She keeps the longing in heart and rest assure with confidence that the sun will be shining soon. The time will come for sure. Time for her to stretch her body freely and her bud blossom beautifully while the sun illuminate her. There is no joy can compare with hers. What a beautiful survivor!
May be you are in the hard position or situation hoping of the way out. In the darkness when the hope seem hide its face from you and in the coldness when thing seem stuck in place leave you with all the emptiness and the longing of better thing but remember that all that thing will pass and thing will be just fine and wonderful like the Snowdrop that overcome the coldness of the winter as we put our trust in the Lord and giving thanks for all He has done, is doing and will do in our life.
"No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."- Hebrew 12: 11
